Peter opened the barbershop in Newtownards in 1989, It was an immediate success. He had built up quite a reputation for his haircuts in the Newtownards area and further a field, so even though he was only 22 it was the obvious step to go at it alone.
The shop was small to start with and usualy had a standing queue, as there was limited space for seating. The shop being so busy attracted more business as it’s reputation spread. So after a couple of years the building was extended and the salon profesionaly fitted out. This allowed it to have a separate cutting and waiting area, which was a first for a barbershop in Northern Ireland.
Apart from working in the salon Peter also teaches the art of the Hot Towel Shave. He runs intensive one day traing seminars/courses, where he teaches the old craft of shaving with an open razor. These courses can take place in your salon or in the training room in the Belfast salon. If you are interested or would like more details please contact one of the salons.
